Dexter – Season 7 – First Photo from the Set
“Dexter” has added Ray Stevenson to its cast ensemble for the upcoming seventh season. The Irish actor has landed a recurring role as Isaac, a high-ranking member of a Russian crime ring. He comes to Miami with an agenda to learn who killed one of his associates.

It is not mentioned, though, if Isaac will be the major villain in the new season. Previously, Edward James Olmos and Colin Hanks were hired to play Professor James Gellar and his student Travis Marshall, known as the Doomsday Killers, who were the persons of interest throughout most of the sixth season.
“Dexter” season 7 will premiere Sunday, September 30 at 9 P.M. on Showtime. The show is expected to answer the question about what decision Deb makes after she learned a shocking truth about her brother Dexter.
As for Stevenson, he is best known for his portrayal of Titus Pullo on HBO’s “Rome”. The 47-year-old thesp recently appeared as Porthos in “The Three Musketeers” and Volstagg in “Thor“. He will next grace big screen through “G.I. Joe: Retaliation”, where he lands a role as Firefly.
In the first piece of casting for the show’s upcoming seventh season, Dexter has tapped Rome actor Ray Stevenson to join the ensemble in a major recurring role, TVLine has learned exclusively.
The Irish thesp will play a high-ranking member of an Eastern European crime ring who arrives in Miami determined to learn who killed one of his associates.
No further details were available, including whether Stevenson will function as the new season’s Big Bad.

“Dexter” will reportedly get a new lady-love partner-in-crime in the upcoming seventh season. According to TV Guide, the next chapter of the psychological thriller show will feature a new character, a lady with a violent past.

The woman, who will possibly be a new love interest for the blood spatter pattern analyst, is trying to live a quiet life until her path crosses with Dexter’s. She is said to “stick around for a while” on the show.
There’s no word on the character’s moniker and who will portray her since details of the new season are still scarce.
“Dexter” season 7 is scheduled to premiere Sunday, September 30 at 9/8c on Showtime. The show is expected to answer the question about what decision Deb makes after she learned a shocking truth about her brother.
Summer is yet to come, but Showtime has unveiled the premiere dates for two of its fall programs. The network announced that both “Dexter” and “Homeland” will return on Sunday, September 30, with the veteran show leading at 9 P.M. ET/PT and the sophomore series following at 10 P.M. ET/PT.

Both “Dexter” and “Homeland” will start production this spring. The former will continue to shoot in Los Angeles, while the latter will shoot on location in Israel and in North Carolina.
The upcoming season 7 of “Dexter” will feature “fundamentally different dynamics” now that Deb has learned a shocking truth about her brother. Executive producer Manny Coto has said, “Debra has a big decision to make: ‘Do I turn him in? What do I do about this? I’ve just seen him kill somebody.’ That’s the first thing we’re going to be dealing with.”
As for “Homeland”, its second season will pick up where the first season finale left off. The last time people saw Claire Danes’ Carrie Anderson was when she underwent intense electroshock therapy for her bi-polar disorder. Meanwhile, Damian Lewis’ Sgt. Brody infiltrated the government as a terrorist.
It is the relationship between Dexter and Debra that leaves a big question mark in the season 6 finale of “Dexter“. As if Deb’s growing feelings to her adoptive brother are not complicated enough, she now has to deal with a shocking fact that the man she loves is a serial killer.

In the season ender, Dexter managed to convince Travis to switch his son Harrison with himself as a sacrifice. He pretended to be drugged and then knocked out Travis when he got the chance. He later took Travis back to the church, in which Travis set up shop, and got him on his table.
Elsewhere, Deb met her therapist once again to say, “I finally told my brother that I love him and he said he loves me back!” Deb, however, thought that Dexter does not understand her true feelings. She then followed her therapist’s advice to profess her romantic feelings to him.
Deb headed to the church since she had earlier assigned Dexter to visit the place for a final sweep. Unfortunately, she came just in time to witness her adoptive brother stabbing Travis in the heart. “Oh God,” the serial killer said when he noticed Deb’s presence.
Dishing on how the ending in season 6 sets up the possibly final two seasons of “Dexter”, executive producer Sara Colleton has said, “We want to lay the groundwork to have the most interesting way into examining how Deb will react.”
She explained, “If we hadn’t evolved Deb, then there could only be one reaction, which is horror and arrest, and end of story, which indeed may be the case. It just allows us to have a more complicated character who has to deal with it in a more nuanced way.”

Expect to get surprised when “Dexter” completes its sixth season this Sunday, December 18 at 9 P.M. on Showtime. Without revealing too much, Michael C. Hall recently said about the episode, “There is a sense of resolution, but there is some pretty fundamentally earthshaking things that happen as well.”

Asked if his serial killer character will get a happy ending, the actor told Parade.com, “I don’t know about a happy ending. I think the question is what happens to him. Is he done in? Does he do himself in? Does he get away with it?”
“But even if he gets away with it at this point, there have been a lot of ramifications for his behavior already. What the final verdict will be for him specifically, I can’t say,” he went on adding before concluding, “As for a happy ending, I don’t think we’re in that territory.”
In the season finale, Dexter must race against time to find Travis who kidnaps Dexter’s son Harrison and wants to sacrifice him before the eclipse. Two clips for the episode have been released, with one of them giving a look at the scene after Travis gets his hold on Harrison.
The other video, meanwhile, teases how Deb tries to deal with her newfound feeling about her adoptive brother while her team is trying to catch the Doomsday Killer.
Dexter has been fooled by Travis’ delusion all this time. After turning to Travis to find Professor Gellar, the blood spatter analyst finally learns in the latest episode of the crime series that Gellar has died and that Travis is the only Doomsday killer.

As he realizes that he has made a terrible mistake, Dexter will move forward by finding out who Travis’ next victim is. Speaking to Gellar in his mind, Travis denies that he killed the professor and says that he will finish what they started.
Travis will hunt down a woman whom he calls a w***e while Dexter races to figure out Travis’ next victim. Meanwhile, Debra reacts strongly when she, Batista and Mike find the Doomsday killer’s hideout, but her brother manages to calm her down.
“Ricochet Rabbit” will air Sunday, December 4 at 9 P.M. ET on Showtime.
“Dexter” will still spill bloods for at least two more seasons. Following a salary dispute with lead actor Michael C. Hall which left the show’s fate up in the air, Showtime has finally announced that the show is renewed for a seventh and eighth season.

“The series is bigger than it’s ever been in its sixth season, both in terms of audience and its impact on the cultural landscape,” says Showtime entertainment president David Nevins. “Together with Michael, the creative team on the show has a very clear sense of where they intend to take the show over the next two seasons… On behalf of the entire Dexter family, we relish the invitation to delve ever deeper into Dexter’s world.”
While the network has not made a decision that the upcoming two seasons will be the last for the series, Nevins hints that the crime thriller may end after completing its “3-year trajectory” which includes the currently airing sixth season. “I’m not going to say with absolute certainty that this is the end, but that is the likely scenario, that the series is moving towards a definite end,” he says when asked by Deadline about whether or not the show will wrap up after eight seasons.
“Dexter” opened its sixth season with a strong start, delivering 2.2 million audience which marked the biggest season premiere audience for the show. The seventh season will begin the production in 2012 in Los Angeles.
